What is Google SERP tracking
What is Google SERPs
People use Internet in their everyday activity to get information that is needed fast. If they are looking for something very special, something new or unique that must be found very quickly, they use search engine. Internet users entering the keywords or phrases in search line, press “Enter” and appear on web page that is called “search engine results pages” or SERP. Search engine results pages are web pages answering users when they are searching something online using a search engine, for example Google. Users enter specific words known as keywords and search engine presents them Google SERP. Two SERPs may differ for every user, that happens because geographical location, browsing history, Google settings, etc, even if user entering the same keywords and queries. If you want to track a web page in search engine it is better to use Google SERP tracking tool. You can check Google position of featured web page via RankActive tools.
What type of results do SERP serve
Traditionally, SERPs contain two types of content – organic and paid results. Organic results appear on SERPs thanks to Google’s search engine algorithm. Paid results display thanks to SEO-optimizers, whose job is specialization and optimization of website to rank higher in SERPs.
Three types of Internet search exist (due to users searching intentions):
Informational and navigational SERPs mostly contain no paid results. Such pages usually suggest user’s trial information on asked topic and provide low commercial interest. Informational results are those in which information on asked topic reflects on SERP. For example, search query “the weather for today” has informational purpose only.
Navigational results are those in which user wants to find, for example, a website but he doesn’t remember its URL.
Transactional searching traditionally displays SERPs that contain some commercial or marketing offer, reflection of users desire “to buy” something.
Paid content is those that have been paid to appear in top SERP. To be displayed on the top of the searching results, owners of online-business usually pay money to advertize their website. This is the easiest way being on top.
What kind of changes happened with Google SERP
Google search engine result pages today look different as they were, for example, in 2010. In 2012 Google introduced Knowledge Box. This feature gives users the most common data on asked search queries or keywords. Knowledge Box appears on the right side of search engine result pages.
Years ago SERPs displayed only links connected with asked data, but Google SEO optimizers, marketers and developers of SERP tracking software realized that SERP need changes. So, they decided to fill data with additional content like mapbox, pictures of desirable or related product, direct answers and advertising boxes. For marketers Google serp changes became a good chance to declare about the products or service more widely. For SEO professionals – use wide range of SERP tools and improve professional skills.
And finally, Google SERPs now allow people find more information in less time that it was 15 years ago. For example, in 2005 searchers spent nearly 2 second looking through data listing, year ago this index was 1, 17 seconds. That means that users may look through more listing of data to find the right one.
Search Engine Optimization tools
Search engine optimization tools or Google seo checker tools are specific tools that help to optimize a websites and pages to take higher place on search engine results pages and check its current position. This goal achieves via different methods, the most popular are “on page” and “off page” SEO.
For “on page” optimization SEO optimizers create detailed web page metadata that includes pictures, unique URLs, keywords, appropriate headings, etc. The main purpose of this tool is to ensure website content easily discoverable.
“Off page” SEO optimization refers to general strategy of promotion and leads to higher Google search position in SERPs. Optimizers build links, involve social bookmarking, content marketing and create online fellowships.
